Electromagnetic Tooth Clutches

Tooth Clutches transmit torque by engagement of interlocking teeth.  Larger amount of torque may be transmitted with a Tooth Clutch compared to a friction clutch because of positive tooth engagement. Full Position and Fixed Position variations are available. 

• Full Postion:  Plates may engage at any radian position with a rotation
• Fixed Position:  Plate engagement at only one radian position per revolution

The saw tooth tip configuration allows that full tooth depth is useable in any rotational direction. Saw tooth configurations are available for high velocity engagements.

The 546 model is currently available in eight sizes, and six different tooth profiles. An Engineer may choose the appropriate configuration depending on design and performance requirements Click on the catalog link for dimensional and size information.
